Could it be the real end this time? Is he really serious to leave at the end of the year or sooner? Art Bell announced tonight that he will be retiring due to his debilitating back problems, at the end of this year. I am going to cry. But, there is a light at the end of this tunnel: George Noory will be taking over. I send the best of wishes to Art, and to George on both of them taking the next step in their lives!
I am cringing once again in embarrassement. I mentioned to a few friend last week that I hoped that Teri and Ian would get eliminated because they are nothing but two annoying, rude, and embarrassing people giving Americans even more of a bad name. I am talking the stereotypical rude Americans. I first got the sick feeling when Ian was speaking to the Mexican cabbie like he was nothing more than a lowly slave. Tonight while calling a cab he made even more of an ass out of himself. Don't get me started on how he treats his wife. She just sits back and takes it. If that was my husband.. well, he just wouldn't be my husband. My boyfriend's mother has just finished a 38 day trip across Europe and she has mentioned that everytime she tells people that she is Canadian, other travellers say "I could tell you are not American! You are not rude or loud." People like Ian and Teri just perpetuate that stereotype and it saddens me that they are not only travelling the world making complete asses out of themselves, they do it on a television show seen around the world. I live in Canada and as an American, I am always careful to try and show that not all of us are pushy. I am a representative of my country whether I like it or not. Oh well.. I have these two trolls mucking up the rest of the world for me.
Tonight, Heather and Eve were eliminated for just being stupid. They did not read their clue, and instead of following the clear instructions of "walking" to the pit stop, they rode in a cab. Ok, this could be just a simple mistake, but these two lawyers-to-be saw that it said "walk" while they were in the cab, and instead of turning around and doing it right, they chose to stay on in the cab. Harvard law students? Oh wait, Harvard Law Grads? This does not bode well for them being able to read the fine print in a contract. Stupidity!
Song after sniper news offends fans `Another One Bites the Dust' was already scheduled, producer says MARK WASHBURN TV/Radio Writer
Immediately after reporting the latest sniper attack Tuesday, the "John Boy & Billy" radio show played the song "Another One Bites the Dust," spurring complaints to WRFX- FM's signature program.
"It was not intentional," said Randy Brazell, executive producer of the often ribald program, which is syndicated to 110 stations and is the No. 1 drive-time show in the Charlotte market. "Do I wish it didn't happen? Yes."
Brazell said the song was inserted weeks ago into the show's computerized log for play at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, the first music track coming out of the newscast. News of the shooting broke about 6:30 a.m.
The song, by Queen, includes the phrase, "Out of the doorway the bullets rip, to the sound of the beat." Tuesday morning's victim was shot in the doorway of a commuter bus.
"When it played, I didn't even catch it," Brazell said. He said he was made aware of the unfortunate juxtaposition when he got a call from one of the show's affiliated stations.
Brazell said that during a break, the morning team discussed whether to address the issue on the air and decided against it. "We decided that if we called attention to it, people who didn't notice it, then would," he said.
Though broadcast live from Charlotte, the songs on the show can be different on affiliated stations, depending on their music format. Stations with classic rock formats like WRFX FM ("The Fox" 99.7) got the Queen song, while stations with country formats got "Wish I Didn't Know Now" by Toby Keith and oldies stations got "But It's All Right" by J.J. Jackson.
The switching is accomplished by an elaborate computer program. Music and other elements are inserted in advance.
"There is a lot of high technology involved in this redneck show," Brazell said.
My heart goes out to those in the area of the sniper. I did not realize how much this would affect me here in a very small town in Canada, but yesterday as I filled my tank with over-priced gas, I looked around. Of course, there was no sniper in my area, but I still thought about it at that moment. I felt uneasy. If it could happen in a small town in Virginia, why not here? Canada is not immune to serial killers. I would rather stay at home than risk it if I were in that area in the States, but then again it pisses me off that some jerk with a God complex could control my life like that. He is a terrorist, plain and simple. I could give two shits less if he is or is not with any "terrorist group". He is still a terrorist. Causing people to second guess enjoying a beautiful fall day, stealing the childhood of thousands by taking away the safety of a Friday night high school football game, taking away those few things that we have left that allows us to retain a sense of normalcy in this day and age.
I agree that the public has a right to know some things about the investigation, but you have to realize that much of it must be kept under wraps so that law enforcement is able to do their jobs. I have a sneaking suspicion that the latest plea for money and threats against children are in reaction to all the publicity he has received thus far.
I feel almost guilty for watching CNN for hours waiting for the next shoe to drop. I am not that morbid, but I feel that there are more innocent lives to be lost before this comes to an end. I just hope that the next news I hear is that this evil sub-human has a flat tire or something of that nature and they are able to grab him. I know that I am using "him", but I feel that it is a male. Not that women are not capable of such attrocities. Also, it may still turn out to be more than one person. Anyway, I hope that when they do finally catch the coward, someone will take the initiative to feed him his testicles.
Thanks to Quinn, who noticed the eerie face, I now wonder if there is a "Shadow Person" living in my home. What do you think? Great timing for Halloween. The first pic is the original, in the second I have outlined the "face".
Listened to George Friday night and it was open lines. He did a great job as usual. He asked the listeners to write him or call him with a scary/weird story and then tell him at the end if it was real or fake. I emailed him this:

Hello George! Great job once again.
Here is my story:
A little girl and her two cousins went to visit her great-grandparents who lived in a small town in upstate New York. It was a cold winter day and the night was going to be below freezing. When it came time to put the children to bed, they were all ushered up to the third floor and given many old-fashioned heavy quilts to keep them warm in the old victorian home. The little girl was still so cold that she could not sleep. All of a sudden, there was a large pink light floating above her. The little girl could feel nothing but warmth and kindness coming from the light and soon fell off to sleep. When the children awoke, the room was cold enough to see their breath and it was a race to get out of bed and downstairs to the warmth of the fire. It was noticed that on two of the three beds, the top quilt was covered in a fine frost, but the little girl's who had the "visitor" was still warm.
This is true and the little girl was me.
Thanks again!

George picked it to read and did a fabulous job. To hear him read it on air (thanks to DirecMe for the clip) click here for the .wma file.
I didn't win anything yesterday, but Chris and I had a good night anyway. We watched several movies and just cuddled on the couch in front of the fire. I got up close to take this pic:
